Store cold pack in freezer for at least two hours. Insert the cold pack into the cover provided or wrap in a lightweight towel before use. Clean the injured area. Apply a sterile bandage if the skin is broken. Raise the injured area. Raise the injured area and apply the cold pack to help reduce swelling. Remove pack if it becomes uncomfortable. Reapply in a few moments if comfortable. However, do not apply for longer than 20 minutes. Use only with enclosed cover or cloth for insulation to prevent frostbite. Watch carefully when using with children and the elderly whose skin may freeze easily. Check for leaks before use. Avoid puncturing. Throw away if punctured or leaking.
