Allergic Conjunctivitis is caused by the bodyu2019s reaction to an allergen such as pollen, dust mites, and pet dander. The redness occurs when your conjunctiva, which is a clear membrane that covers the white part of your eye and the inner surface of your eyelid, becomes inflamed. The blood vessels within your conjunctiva get huge when inflamed. As a result, your eyes look red. Red and itchy eyes as a result of allergies is usually either seasonal or environment-specific.
