To prevent getting bad breath, you should:
- Practice good oral hygiene: Brush your teeth (including your tongue) at least 2 times per day for 2 minutes. Also, floss at least 1 time per day.
- Drink more water.
- Schedule for dental check-ups and professional cleaning at least 2 times a year.
- Quit smoking.
