Hemorrhoids are divided into two types, internal and external hemorrhoids.
External hemorrhoids occur near the opening of the anus. Internal hemorrhoids occur inside the anus and rectum. It is possible for a person to have both external and internal hemorrhoids at the same time.
If you have hemorrhoids, you may have symptoms such as:
--Bleeding - You may see bright red blood in the toilet after a bowel movement or on your toilet paper. If this happens, SEE YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY.
--Pain - You may feel pain in your anus or rectum after a bowel movement.
--Itching - You may feel itching in your anus after a bowel movement. Itching may worsen if you consume caffeine, beer, carbonated beverages, nuts, dairies, and spices.
--Drainage - Stool, blood, or mucus may leak out from your anus. If this happens, SEE YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY.
