Confused About Vitamins and Supplements? Your Pharmacist Can Help

Image

Most adults in the U.S. take one or more dietary supplements. These can include vitamins, minerals, herbal products, amino acids and other supplements. Who wouldn’t have questions about such an array of products? Fortunately, your Good Neighbor Pharmacy pharmacist is here to help. Your pharmacist can talk with you about everything from glucosamine to garlic supplements and from fish oil to folic acid.

Your pharmacist keeps track of all your prescription medications and is always on the lookout for potential drug interactions. It’s also important to let him or her know what over-the-counter supplements you are taking as well, as some can interact with prescription medications in a potentially dangerous way. (Tell your doctor about all the over-the-counter medications you use, as well.)

Talk with your pharmacist. It’s a great way to help take charge of your health.
