It's a no-brainer that much of the food available in vending machines is unhealthy. Even so, in many places the offerings have changed in recent years. Along with the high-calorie, high-fat, high-sodium foods, you may find some healthier choices as well.
Whenever possible, try to pick foods that are nutrient-rich, low in fat and sodium and high in fiber. You'll also want to make sure all packages are sealed and that the expiration dates haven't passed.
