Image

The last thing a guy wants to spend a lot of time thinking about is health advice, right? Fortunately, there are 12 simple things you can do that don’t take Herculean effort:

1. Wear your seat belt. (Riding a bike or motorcycle? Grab your helmet.)
2. Don't drink and drive.
3. Don't smoke or chew tobacco.
4. Lift with your legs, not your back.
5. Do monthly testicular and skin self-exams.
6. Have regular medical check-ups and tests as recommended by your doctor.
7. Know your blood-pressure, cholesterol and blood-glucose numbers and discuss them with your doctor.
8. Practice safe sex to help protect aganst sexually transmitted diseases.
9. Brush and floss daily.
10. Use both prescribed and over-the-counter medications as directed.
11. Keep vaccinations up to date.
12. Wear sunscreen with SPF 15 or greater—all year long. Winter sun exposure can lead to skin cancer, too.
