Tip 1: When you're overwhelmed, slow down and focus on tackling just one thing at a time. Shift all your attention to one urgent task, then move on to the next one when you complete that task.
Tip 2: Mix up your workout. If you usually walk on a treadmill before lifting weights, switch the order. You'll tire out a different set of muscles first, providing a more challenging workout.
Tip 3: Practice mindful eating. Make eating your only activity without reading, talking on your cellphone, watching TV, texting, computing or working. Eat with chopsticks or with your non-dominant hand.
Tip 4: Keep your refrigerator stocked with healthy, ready-to-eat snacks, such as washed grapes, sliced carrots and low- or nonfat yogurt.
Tip 5: Borrow a low-fat cookbook from the library or search for low-fat recipes on the Internet and expand your healthy meal options.
